Distinguished Speaker Series Announced − Successful Healthy Aging & Caregiving

Inaugural talk set for Oct. 8th at Greenwich Library "What Your Doctor Won't Tell You About Getting Older" - Dr. Mark S. Lachs

STAMFORD, Conn.--The Commission on Aging, The Greenwich Library, At Home in Greenwich and Compass Care, LLC have joined forces to co-sponsor a Distinguished Speaker Series on Successful Healthy Aging & Caregiving. The first talk, What Your Doctor Won't Tell You About Getting Older, will be held this October 8th at the Greenwich Library at 7:00 p.m. presented by Dr. Mark S. Lachs.

"What Your Doctor Won't Tell You About Getting Older"

Dr. Lachs is Director of Weill Cornell's Center for Aging Research and Irene F. and I. Roy Psaty Distinguished Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. He has pioneered and authored a multitude of research studies and published extensively in the field of aging. He is the author of the bestselling book on aging, "What Your Doctor Won't Tell You About Getting Older".

The next speaker in the series is Dr. Karl Pillemer, professor of Gerontology at Cornell University's School of Human Ecology and Weill Cornell Medical School. Dr. Pillemer has published extensively in the field of homecare training and the socialization of older adults. Dr. Pillemer's talk will be held on April 21, 2016, at the Greenwich Library. The topic of Dr. Pillemer's talk has yet to be announced.
